JailHost
Understand exactly what ‘JailHost’ represents. Find the benefits associated with enabling this feature for your hosted domains.
If you host multiple sites inside the same account and one of them gets hacked, it is quite possible that all of them will be hacked after that. There are several reasons why this could happen, the two most popular are: using very weak passwords or using older scripts with well-known vulnerabilities. That way, just a single compromised Internet site can do a lot of damage to all your websites, because gaining access to a single script usually allows hackers to access the web hosting account. This is the reason why we have created a new security option called JailHost. Once enabled, this feature will literally lock a site in its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the remaining websites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be resistant to further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't suggest that you should not keep your sites up-to-date, but it will greatly reduce the damage.
JailHost in Cloud Hosting
You can take advantage of JailHost with each and every cloud hosting plan that we offer and protect your sites against attacks quick and easy. Each domain and subdomain in the Hepsia Control Panel that is provided with our plans has a different folder and in contrast to what often happens with many other Control Panels, the content isn't mixed within a single main folder, so keeping your websites separate will be quite easy. Enabling JailHost for any site takes just a few clicks, so even if you don't have much experience, you won't need any special skills in order to maintain your sites protected. The option isn't active by default in case that you intend to use some script that needs accessibility to another folder in your account. If you use JailHost, the other Internet sites that you have will be protected, but even a hacked one will not remain affected for long since we will have several daily backups for it all of the time, so that we could promptly restore it.
