Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the .NAME gTLD is the only one supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to obtain john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed third-level names remained functional.

You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no particular terms on who can grab a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
